:: Standard Chartered Singapore Marathon ::

10km run yesterday was really a challenge for me. Half-way through the race I thought to myself, "Why did I even join this in the first place?". haha!! The first 2 kilometres was a dash for me, as I was so overwhelmed and excited to run in the middle of the road among the tall buildings of shenton way. Further more, there were so many in front of me who started walking and slow jog, so I had to zig-zag pass them to get to somewhere nearer to the fore-front runners.

However, seeing that after zig-zagging passed so many through the entire 2km, I still see so many heads in front of me. I decided not to compete then. haha. The moment I slowed down at 3km, I felt myself went punctured. haha. My run became a jog, and a slow jog. What spurred me on was the signboard which says "Drink station 150m ahead". Whee...Here I come!! haha. When I finally arrived at the water station, grabbed a cup and gulped a few mouths, and threw it into a bin. Then to realise that the entire stretch of road at the water station was filled with litters of paper cups. I've never seen paper cups so squashed in my life, till they looked just like wet tissue on the ground. haha! What's more was that there was water splashing everywhere, due to all the throwing of paper cups from runners. And those runners who rinsed their mouth on the spot, in front of me!!

Wet wet wet...I continued the run. But can't really run so much after drinking haha!! Hence had to walk, cuz stitches arrived. Before I knew it, I was coming to the next drink station. This time they had H-TWO-O!! I felt I was on a shopping spree, with free flow of drinks for everyone. haha. That's why I took so long to complete the run lar.

When I reached around 6km, I get to see the river and the sea port!! ahh!! Suddenly I became so emotional, and started tearing. And whispering "Thank you God for creating the rivers and the seas for me!! Just for me!!". Did you all know that God created everything with you on His mind? Can you believe it? That's so amazing. haha.

After reaching 7km, I felt I couldn't run anymore. I stopped, but had to brisk walk because of the timing. I had to tell myself to run again when I reach a certain point, and where to stop again. The closer I am to the Finish Point, I could here the familiar voices from the MC and the blasting of the radio. I felt like I'm reaching home. Furthermore, with so many supporters whom I do not know, started cheering for everybody who were running. I couldn't help walking anymore but to continue running all the way. The moment I saw the Finish Point at a clearer view, and I saw on to my left signboards which says "150m" then "100m" then "50m" and Finished! ahhhh..........A complete dash forward, and again Zig-zag passing so many people who were blocking my way. haha.

For the first time I end a run on my left foot (to step on the censoring mat for my timing), cuz the censor chip was on my leg shoe. haha. Should have put it on the right. And I thought I still needed to run after the mat. But everyone stopped, so did I. haha..
