Discarding the Key to the Door of Self-Defeating

I give the title to today's blog, "Discarding the Key to the Door of Self-Defeating". It definitely means alot from the what seeming two worded term, Self-Defeating. It hereby consist of these:

Self-Reproach, Self-Consciousness, Self-Deception, Self-denial, Self-Destruction. Yep, it's gotta do with one's self.

Self-reproach is where we often end up doing when we run into failures, mishaps, setbacks. We start the blame game entirely on our ownselves. The it's-all-my-fault mentality. Hence, setting us running round the track mill in circles, like Harry the hamster. It's only when we became tired after the whole of that cycle, then we realised that all was meaningless. It serves us nothing but aches and a whole drop in the spirit. Some will choose to move on from there, and achieve greater heights, however some chose to continue running on Harry's lifestyle, never getting out of it. We don't take control over our lives to be in Harry's state, but He's the Lord over our lives, and is sovereign.

Self-consciousness happens when we lose confidence in ourselves, and depend on others to determine it a yes or no. This is where we became so afraid of the public's view and reaction on ourselves. It's when everything is well with you, and you can seem that it isn't, as you become so so aware of every single one who looks at you. You became paranoid at how people look at you, and is constantly in panic that something or somewhere was wrong with you. It can be your hair, your dressings, your speech, everything. It's when we really need to come back to a place where we're confident of who we are in God, in His eyes most importantly, for a simple reason- He made us all.

Self-Deception is a more advanced stage reached when one becomes traumatised by one's failures in life, and was unable to move on. Hence, he or she when into a state of self-deception, trying to convince themselves that all didn't happen, that it wasn't their fault but it was others', that it was their fate, etc. They are doing so as to ease themselves with self-esteem, thinking that it will make them feel better. We don't have to do so. After any failure, we should analyse where went wrong, and move on to not repeat the mistakes. God is able to restore us and give us life and life abundantly. Self-deception isn't something He wishes to see in us, for we can seek Him for answers, for strength, for restoration.

Self-Denial is a stage where we abandon ourselves from doing or having the things we like, because of several reasons. It's perhaps we can't afford it, or it's something that do not belong to us for having or doing. We don't have to be in a state of self-denial, but we can be in a state of freedom and liberty. Freedom and liberty comes from the Lord.

Self-Destruction happens when the state of failure grips is so tight till it birth a hatred against ourselves. This hatred will cost us alot. It causes us to self-mutilate and to self-hate. Hence, healing becomes more challenging, to heal the physical wounds and the mental wounds. However, we don't have to even be in that state. Why allow the consequence of failure grip onto you? Break the chains, release in Him and receive His fullness and His blessings.

After looking through the entire list of self-defeating, we can see that there are many trapped beneath the claws of it. "Save me" they cried. We hear, but we didn't act to their rescue. How do we do so? Let them know this Man, Jesus Christ the Savior!
